Hermona Tamrat, P.E.

Hermona was born and raised in the D.C. area, and has lived and worked in New York for 10 years.

She received her Master’s in Structural Engineering from U.C. Berkeley and her Bachelor’s in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. Hermona cut her teeth at the renowned architectural engineering firm Silman, gaining technical expertise in a breadth of material and project types under the mentorship of industry leaders. She is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia GSAPP and an instructor at the Yale School of Architecture.

In addition to engineering, Hermona is a musician, ceramicist, and dog-parent.

Hermona is licensed in the state of New York.
